About Baie Sainte Anne
Baie Sainte Anne is a bay and administrative district on the east coast of Praslin, the second-largest island of the Seychelles; the district also covers Curieuse and some smaller islands. Ferries from Mahé and La Digue dock at the terminal in this bay.
Praslin is known for the Vallée de Mai nature reserve, home of the coco de mer palm, and for white-sand beaches such as Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. The nearby islands of Curieuse and La Digue make easy day trips.
How many days do you need?
Three to five days is a good length for Praslin: a day for the Vallée de Mai, a few days of beaches and a day trip to La Digue or Curieuse.
From the airport to the city
The Seychelles' international airport is on Mahé. From Mahé there are two options: an Air Seychelles flight of about 15 minutes to Praslin Island Airport (PRI) at Grand Anse, or the Cat Cocos ferry from Victoria to Baie Sainte Anne, which takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. Since 2023 the ferries have used the ERO passenger terminal, which replaced the old jetty. La Digue is about 20 minutes away by ferry.
Good to know
- Check entry rules (tickets, bookings) for the Vallée de Mai and Anse Georgette in advance.
- Traffic drives on the left in the Seychelles; Praslin's roads are narrow and winding.
- The currency is the Seychellois rupee.
