About Kocaeli
Kocaeli, around the Gulf of İzmit, is one of Türkiye's industrial centres. In antiquity İzmit, as Nicomedia, became one of the eastern capitals of the Roman Empire.
The Kartepe ski resort, the streamside nature of Maşukiye and the coasts of Kerpe and Kefken are the province's places to unwind.
