Kayseri

Kayseri, at the foot of Mount Erciyes, is one of the major trading and industrial cities of Central Anatolia. Its ancient name is Caesarea.

Seljuk madrasas, tomb towers and the castle in the city centre form the historic core. Kültepe is home to Kanesh-Karum, one of the earliest places in Anatolia where writing was used. The Erciyes ski resort comes alive in winter.
