About Çanakkale
Çanakkale spreads across both sides of the strait separating Asia from Europe. Ancient Troy and the Gallipoli Peninsula are its two world-famous historic sites.
The peninsula where the 1915 Gallipoli campaign was fought is now protected as a historical park. Bozcaada and Gökçeada are the province's two large Aegean islands.
