About Bursa
Bursa, ancient Prusa, takes its name from King Prusias I of Bithynia. Orhan Gazi took the city in 1326, and Bursa became the first capital of the Ottoman state.
The city's early Ottoman buildings and the village of Cumalıkızık are on the UNESCO World Heritage list. At the foot of Uludağ, Bursa is also known for its thermal baths and İskender kebab.
In 2025 Bursa welcomed about 1.76 million tourists, 365,000 of them foreign and 1.4 million domestic.
